LKP Al Hidayah’s Challenges and Commitment to Education

Dwi Septiani, Wahyuning Dwi Wardani Ndraha, Ni Luh Devi Kusumawati, and Paula Stela N. Landowero from  Wadah Foundation Headquarters, Jakarta, visited the Al Hidayah community in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Saturday morning, 25 January 2025. This visit was to ensure that all work plans for 2025 are running smoothly and to check the progress of learning activities at the Al Hidayah Course and Training Centre (LKP).

The management team and tutors warmly welcomed them. Listyaningsih, known as Lis, the LKP manager, has prepared the team well and divided them into two groups: the learning team and the administration team.

Positive response

Lis explained the progress made by the new training centre. LKP has completed the second batch of Word and Excel classes and is now conducting the third batch. The graduates have formed a WhatsApp group to share information and stories. Nearly all the graduates reported that the training was beneficial. Some mentioned that their school grades had improved, while others showed they received promotions at work because of their enhanced computer knowledge and skills.

Needs further capacity building

However, as a newly founded training centre, the LKP faces more challenges. There is still a need for further capacity training for tutors and administrators to assist them in developing learning plans that fit their students’ needs.  Furthermore, there is also a need for a capacity building on how to manage the LKP professionally in order to make it a  sustainable training centre.

Lis and Wadah Foundation will train tutors and administrators to address these challenges. The strong commitment of team members to continue serving as trainers and administrators, combined with the community’s demand for LKP Al-Hidayah, gives Lis the strength she needs to fulfil her dream.

Innovative recommendations

Several innovative recommendations emerged from the visit, including technology and artificial intelligence (AI), to create effective and creative lesson plans. Another recommendation was to create a database of participants before and after the training. The aim is to make graduates who are thought leaders, creative, and have integrity so they can easily find employment.

Overall, the management team and tutors at LKP Al Hidayah show a strong dedication to consistently upgrading the quality of education, while addressing and improving some issues. The community’s high trust and the LKP team’s strong potential are valuable advantages in achieving the desired results.
